Who we are

section 38 is a documentary film by Mathew Embry, made and released by Muster Point Productions Inc. (“we”, “us”), based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This page explains what personal information we collect when you visit section38film.com, watch the film, donate or contact us, and what we do with it. You can reach us at info@musterpointproductions.com.

What we collect

People who rented the film

Between October 7 and October 14, 2026 the film was available to rent. Everyone who rented it was refunded in full. For those rentals we hold your email address, the time of purchase, a record of your refund, and a record of viewing (how far you watched, the country and type of device, and a random code stored in your browser). If you answered the optional question about hearing from us, we also hold that answer. We keep these records only as long as we need them for support, refunds, and tax and accounting rules. You can ask us to delete them at any time by writing to info@musterpointproductions.com, and we will, except for records the law requires us to keep.

How we use it

Cookies and analytics

We use Google Analytics to measure visits. It uses cookies only for analytics. We do not use advertising cookies and we do not show ads.

If you are in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland or Quebec, we ask first and analytics cookies stay off until you accept. Elsewhere, analytics runs by default and you can decline from the notice that appears or block it in your browser. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies, and our own simple counts of visits by source, country and device type, which are not tied to you.

When you press play, YouTube may store its own cookies or similar items on your device. Your browser also keeps a few small items the site needs to work, such as your cookie choice.

Who we share it with

We use trusted service providers who handle information only to provide their service to us:

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it where the law requires, for example to answer a valid legal request.

Where it is processed

These providers operate in Canada, the United States and other countries, so your information may be processed outside Canada, including in countries with different privacy laws.

How long we keep it

We keep screening requests while we are in touch with you and for a reasonable time afterward. We keep donation, rental and refund records for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Analytics information is kept for the period set in our analytics account. You can ask us to delete your information, and we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted. You can also withdraw your consent to emails at any time. Email info@musterpointproductions.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in Canada, you may also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you may also contact your local data protection authority.

Emails from us

We only email you about future films and screenings if you opted in. Every such email says who it is from and has an unsubscribe link. You can also email info@musterpointproductions.com to be removed. Replies to your own questions, and notices about a rental or refund, are not marketing and you may still receive them.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
